Malaysians are generally quite enthusiastic about food, and most of us would sometimes go to great lengths to try out some of these tantalizing foods. However, price would have a say on these matters as well. So what makes good foods taste even better, is affordable price.

Dynasty Restaurant is one such restaurant that offers relatively affordable prices for good and tasty cuisines. Dynasty Restaurant is actually restaurant food chain in Malacca that consists of 2 outlets – the original one being situated in Melaka Raya, while the newer one, the one which we will be reviewing in a short while, is situated in Cheng. Its striking looks would make it quite difficult for you to miss.

Environment:

Interior 1

Dynasty Restaurant consists of two double-storey shop lots. Both the ground and first floor offers two totally different types of environment for patrons.

Interior 3

The ground floor offers conventional dining environment suitable for group dining as well as family dining – perfect for organizing functions.

Interior 5

The first floor offers a slightly more relaxed and romantic environment, perfect for couples dating as well dining for smaller groups or families.

Menu:

The restaurant serves a variety of cuisines ranging from popular local cuisines to western dishes. So let us go on to some of the sample dishes, shall we?

Pork Chop Rice

Yuan Yang

First up is the Pork Chop with Mushroom Sauce and Rice, served with a little bit of French fries and coleslaw. You may want to try the Yuan Yang (Mixed Kuey Teow and Noodles in thick gravy), or even the Fried Udon. For some of the selected category of Set Meals, you are entitled to free drinks as well.

Pineapple Juice

Lime Plum Juice

There is a variety of drinks to choose from, but featured here are the Lime Plum juice, the Pineapple Juice and also the ever so popular local favourite – the Durian Ice Blended.

Sunflower

Now along with you basic dishes, you might want to have some snacks to go along with them. You may want to try some of the following. The Sunflower – literally deep-fried pork wrapped in a wanton, shaped to a flowery look, hence the name.

Lobster Dumpling

Crispy Otak-otak

The Lobster Dumpling is also a must-try. The Crispy Otak-otak Roll is particularly good. Not to be missed also is the Yasai Nuggets – freshwater fish cakes wrapped in wanton and fried to perfection.

Service:

Service can be a little bit slower than usual, and generally you will get your food ordered on your table in fifteen minutes or slightly more. Unlike most restaurants that I’ve been too, this is one of the few that provides membership card benefits.

You can apply the membership cards for RM 8 payment fee, and immediately, you can enjoy discounts on your meals. You can collect points and accumulate them in exchange for various products such as key chains or even to pay for your following year’s fee. Other benefit also includes additional discounts for your birthdays every year.

Conclusion:

Dynasty does serve good food at a relatively reasonable price, and with its cosy dining environment, it’s no wonder that it has become one of the favourite establishments for the local residents.

Final verdict: 8/10
